Hot on the heels of Providence Monthly‘s highly successful Providence Cocktail Week and it’s Cocktail Competition, comes The Cocktail Challenge presented by The Westerly Pawcatuck Young Professionals Network (sponsored in part by Eat Drink RI). The event will showcase the growing cocktail culture in Westerly with eight competitors from some of Westerly’s best restaurants and bars:
- 84 Tavern on Canal
- Bridge Restaurant [Raw Bar] River Patio
- Ocean House
- Paddy’s Beach
- Pavilion Steakhouse
- Perks & Corks
- Shelter Harbor Golf Club
- Windjammer Beach Resort
The first place winner will be awarded by a panel of three judges: Jay Carr of The Eddy in Providence, David Dadekian of Eat Drink RI and Willa van Nostrand of Little Bitte Artisanal Cocktails. Guests will sample the eight cocktails and get to vote on their favorite for People’s Choice. There are cash prizes for both first and second place winners. Guests will also be able to nosh on local food and live music.
The fundraiser is to benefit Opening Doors for Westerly’s Children an initiative of United Way of Rhode Island. All proceeds go to an education fund that will provide school supplies and scholarships to help low-income Westerly students at the Tower Street School Center gain access to educational programs.
This event is being sponsored by Elevated Spirits of McLaughlin Moran, Eat Drink RI, and the Windjammer Surf Bar. Tickets are $40 per person and available at www.eatdrinkri.com/ypn and directly at the competing restaurants and bars.
