22 Bowen Canard Vineyard Wine Dinner

22 Bowen’s Wine Bar & Grille, located on Bowen’s Wharf in Newport, Rhode Island, will host an elegant four-course wine dinner featuring the acclaimed wines of Canard Vineyard on Wednesday, April 23rd at 5:30 p.m. The cost is $160 per person; tax and gratuity are additional Space is limited. Canard Vineyard Managing Director Adam Fox will lead guests through each of the four courses and wine pairings, beginning with family style Frutti di Mare, including local oysters, littleneck clams, lobster cocktail, fluke crudo, and ceviche squid, paired with the 2023 Canard Vineyard Rosé, Coucher de Soleil. Made entirely from whole cluster-pressed Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Zinfandel, it features a perfume of fresh wild strawberries, peaches and notes of ruby red grapefruit.
A dish of Rabbit Raviolo with rabbit ragu and ricotta filling, fresh peas, rabbit espagnole, and Pecorino Romano will follow, paired with the full-bodied 2019 Canard Vineyard Estate Zinfandel with a luscious mouth feel of ripe red cherries, cranberries and figs.
The third course will feature Octopus Amatriciana with guanciale, San Marzano tomatoes, Calabrian chile, herbs, crispy garlic, fried capers, and basil complemented by the smooth and polished 2019 Canard Vineyard ‘The Rescuer,’ offering fine tannins and nicely balanced notes of cedar, tobacco spice, and milk chocolate through the finish. The evening’s final course will be a New York Strip with local seasonal vegetables, potatoes, and a morel demi-glace poured with the 2019 Canard Vineyard Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, featuring dark currant and cassis berry fruit with dark earth, tobacco spice, and espresso notes on the nose.
