22 Bowen’s Poderi Gianni Gagliardo Wine Dinner

22 Bowen’s Wine Bar & Grille, located on Bowen’s Wharf in Newport, Rhode Island, will host an elegant wine dinner featuring the acclaimed wines of Poderi Gianni Gagliardo on Saturday, November 1st at 5:30 p.m.
Stefano Gagliardo, owner and winemaker, will lead a tasting paired with five courses crafted by Executive Chef Justin Garcia and his team. Space is limited, and substitutions regarding dietary restrictions cannot be made, but allergies will be accommodated. The cost is $185 per person; tax and gratuity are additional. The evening will begin with Frutti di Mare, an assortment of raw bar served family style and enjoyed with the fresh salinity of the Gagliardo Vermentino, followed by Brussel Sprout Salad with baby arugula, local squash, Parmigiano Reggiano, pomegranate & pinenut agro dolce, paired with Gagliardo Timorasso, featuring a vivid, floral and fruity nose and fresh palate.
The third course will feature Veal Tonnato: roasted sliced veal loin, tuna mousse, capers, bell pepper, and micro basil, complemented by the notes of olives, salinity, black cherries, and currants of the Gagliardo ‘Rosina’ Barbera.
A Truffle Lasagnette with porcini mushrooms, fresh herbs, shaved Italian truffles, and Pecorino Romano will follow, paired with the Gagliardo La Morra Barolo, featuring notes of vibrant red fruits and a bouquet of savory herbs and spices.
The final course, a Wagyu Ribeye, will be served with potato rosti, blistered cipollini, herb butter and the elegant Gagliardo Casteletto Barolo, featuring a bouquet of cassis and cherry followed by spice, smoke and licorice.
