This basic fruit pie baking class is taught by Pastry Chef Victoria Kenyon, owner of Vanilla Bean Pastry Studio, and is appropriate for beginner to intermediate bakers. It takes advantage of the bounty of summer fruits available at this time of year, both fresh and frozen. In this hands on class she’ll teach how to properly make a pie dough and bake the crust until it is golden brown, even on the bottom. She will cover a variety of ways to thicken the juices of different fruits including blueberries, peaches, apples and mixed berry. Chef Victoria will also share her pie recipes for especially unique flavor combinations like limoncello blueberry pie with a cardamom spiced crumb amongst others. BYOB optional.
