Yacht Club Bottling Works Creates Their First Seasonal Limited Release “Berrymelon Rebellion”

Yacht Club Bottling Works, The Official Soda and Water Company of Rhode Island, is producing its very first Seasonal Limited Release flavor Berrymelon Rebellion, a Strawberry Watermelon Soda embodying summer with an iconic label tied to Rhode Island’s vital part in America’s history.

“We’ve been planning seasonal limited release drinks for some time and wanted to start with a summer flavor,” said Yacht Club owner John Sgambato. “After much sampling we landed on the perfect Strawberry Watermelon blend. Since summer is also a very patriotic time of year with the Memorial Day and Independence Day holidays, we decided to go with that theme for the label. We chose the Burning of the Gaspee for the label of Berrymelon Rebellion to tie in both Rhode Island and American History.”

Famed cartoonist and Rhode Island resident, Frankie Galasso, designed the limited release label. Galasso, a nationally syndicated sports, editorial and entertainment cartoonist/artist, created the Burning of the Gaspee label in his iconic way. “John and I have been friends for ten years,” Galasso said. “So when he wants something different for his limited release flavors, he asks to have my cartoony style.” Galasso can be found on Facebook at facebook.com/frankgalassori/.

Berrymelon Rebellion is now available at the Yacht Club Bottling Works Factory Store in North Providence, will be sold at farmers markets and can be found in local stores and restaurants through distribution by McLaughlin & Moran. The Strawberry Watermelon soda is refreshing on its own and will also make a great mixer for summer cocktails. It’s only being sold through August—or while supplies last—so don’t miss out on this delicious flavor with the very Rhode Island label.

Also available now in wide release is Yacht Club’s very first caffeinated soda, Rhody Red, with artwork of Misquamicut by Mike Bryce on its label. Rhody Red may remind you of a certain Dr. named soda, but Yacht Club’s soda uses no high fructose corn syrup and is, of course, bottled locally.
