The Blogetarian’s Review: The Tree House Tavern & Bistro

On a whim I tried The Tree House Tavern in Warwick. I’ve heard a lot of great things and against my better judgement, I left the big city for food.

After passing the topiaries of Scottish Terriers and Labradors, the stairway led to the frosted glass of a sliding door. It reminded me of a country store, where one could purchase patriotic bunting, ceramic cats dressed as pioneers and countless non-functioning bird houses. Inside, it looked like I was in a northern New England lodge, whimsically decorated for the holidays.

I was in the right place.

The menu was loaded with craft beers, signature cocktails, an assortment of wines and aperitifs.

Dessert tray alert! A two-tiered dessert cart greeted me as I walked through the door loaded with cakes, pies, cookies and suggested after-dinner drinks. Though I didn’t try them, I’ll be back to do so soon.

An interesting thing about this place: it advertises it’s menu items along Route 117. It was no coincidence I chose the pulled pork nachos to devour.

The warm crispy tortillas topped with tender pulled pork, diced butternut squash, black beans and corn was big enough to split but I didn’t want to, it was so good!

I took a farro salad for the road to dive into later. It was rad. Seasonal ingredients helped this gnarly grain, served over a bed of mixed greens, hit the spot!

If I was to award this establishment a first place title, it would be, “Most Fish Surrounded By Pine Cones and Christmas Lights,” and if that doesn’t get you through the door, I don’t know what will.

If you’re a big city mover and shaker, Don’t get nervous. There is a diverse crowd of clientele who just want to snarffle down some delicious goodness!

Be sure to visit their web site to make sure they’re open! Their hours are listed below!
