Castle Hill Inn and Chef Nick Curtin of Alouette Dinner
October 17, 2025 @ 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Castle Hill Inn, the iconic Relais & Châteaux property in Newport, Rhode Island, will mark the 150th anniversary of its storied Agassiz Mansion with an extraordinary dining collaboration at its AAA Five Diamond restaurant, Aurelia at Castle Hill. The celebration will feature Michelin-starred chef Nick Curtin of Copenhagen’s acclaimed Alouette, joining forces with Aurelia’s culinary team for a one-of-a-kind gastronomic experience taking place October 17 & 18, 2025.
Built in 1875 by renowned Harvard marine biologist and naturalist Alexander Agassiz, the mansion today is home to Aurelia, where contemporary New England cuisine shines with ingredient-driven, locally sourced dishes that highlight sustainability and seasonality. Sharing a similar ethos, Alouette, recipient of both one Michelin Star and one Michelin Green Star, is rooted in sustainability and equally committed to rigorously thoughtful sourcing, respect for ingredients, and a culinary style that balances innovation with a grounded sense of place.
Originally from Providence, Rhode Island, Curtin is the region’s most internationally acclaimed chef. Returning to his roots for this milestone occasion, he brings home the local perspective he has honed and championed on the global stage. At Alouette, every dish celebrates the artistry of skilled makers, the bounty of local growers, and the bold, diverse flavors that define the Copenhagen region through a first of its kind menu format called the Plot System. Curtin will be bringing that same perspective to Aurelia at Castle Hill for the two-night celebration.
“When thinking about how to best honor the past 150 years of the Agassiz Mansion, a celebration featuring Chef Nick felt like a natural fit. Not only does he possess an extraordinary culinary pedigree, but his deep ties to Rhode Island make this collaboration especially meaningful,” said Brian Young, Managing Director of Castle Hill Inn. “Having dined at Alouette myself, I was struck by how seamlessly Chef Nick’s approach aligns with Castle Hill’s long-standing values of craftsmanship, tradition, and a profound sense of place. Alouette’s commitment to sustainability serves as an inspiration to us at Aurelia and Castle Hill, and we’re eager to learn from his efforts and insights. Together, we look forward to creating a dining experience that pays homage to our history while setting the stage for the future of Aurelia – one defined by both legacy and innovation.”
“Getting to return home to be a part of the celebration of the enduring legacy of such a special place is a great honor for me as a chef,” said Nick Curtin, Executive Chef and co-owner of Alouette. “I’m looking forward to bringing everything that we’ve honed at Alouette to create something memorable together with the team at Castle Hill to celebrate 150 years of the upmost culinary excellence in Rhode Island.”
The milestone dining experience will take place October 17 & 18, 2025, with four seatings offered each evening. Guests will enjoy a curated prix-fixe menu that celebrates Rhode Island’s local bounty – from peak-season produce to the region’s renowned seafood and artisanal purveyors.
Reservations will be available via Open Table beginning September 17. The prix fixe menu will be available for $165 per person, with beverage pairings and wines available at an additional cost.
