Dolores Celebrates Dia de los Muertos at Track 15

Dolores, located within the Track 15 food hall at 1 Union Station in downtown Providence, will celebrate Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), one of Mexico’s most meaningful traditions, with menu specials available Monday, October 27^th through Sunday, November 2^nd.  

Día de los Muertos, celebrated on November 1^st and 2^nd, is a time to honor and remember loved ones who have passed away with love and joy. Rooted in pre-Hispanic indigenous beliefs that life and death are part of a sacred cycle, the holiday was later blended with Catholic traditions like All Saints’ and All Souls’ Day. Families create ofrendas (altars) filled with photos, candles, flowers, food, and favorite items of the departed, welcoming their spirits back home for a brief reunion.

Dolores will build their ofrenda with flowers, candles, food, mezcal, and music. In addition to its full Track 15 menu, guests can enjoy Late Harvest Tamales de Elote, fresh corn ground and made in a tamal and served with crema, queso, and salsa tatemada (roasted salsa) and Pumpkin Flan with piloncillo caramel (dark sugar cane caramel) and palanqueta (peanut, sesame brittle).
