Sakonnet Vineyard Bubbles & Belcourt Wine Dinner
December 4, 2025 @ 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Sakonnet Vineyard, New England’s oldest vineyard celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2025, welcomes guests to raise a glass to history, craftsmanship, and the art of sparkling wine at Bubbles & Belcourt on Thursday, December 4th beginning at 5:00 p.m.
The evening will feature five exquisite wines, including the newly released sparkling red Chanbrusco, paired with a three-course meal prepared by Chef Andrew Bonamassa from Bar & Board in Newport. Special guest David Bettencourt, general manager of Newport’s iconic Belcourt Mansion, will share fascinating stories and visuals from this Gilded Age landmark — from its architectural grandeur to its modern-day preservation. The cost is $130 per person, inclusive of tax and gratuity. For full details and tickets, visit here.
The evening will begin with Sakonnet Vineyard’s Blanc de Blancs, a refined sparkling wine from old vine Chardonnay and Vidal Blanc. Hand harvested grapes were gently pressed and vinified, then matured in mild oak casks before an extended 10-year tirage. Riddled and disgorged entirely be hand, it stands as one of the most patient and expressive wines in the Sakonnet portfolio.
The first course will feature thin-sliced Beet-cured Salmon with puffed farro, whipped ricotta, beets, basil oil, and arugula paired with the Belcourt White, a delightful estate-grown blend that combines the rich, stone fruit and pineapple notes of Chardonnay with the aromatic, floral characteristics of Vidal Blanc, resulting in a well-balanced wine that showcases New England terroir.
The second course will highlight seared Lamb Chops with Belcourt red wine and balsamic reduction and rosemary-parm polenta. This dish will pair with the Belcourt Red, an old vine red blend (Zinfandel, Merlot, Grenache, Syrah, Cab Franc) that boasts deep, intense flavors of blackberry, dried cherry, and a subtle hint of tobacco.
The third course will showcase Prosciutto-wrapped Scallops with saffron bell pepper puree and sauteed broccolini, complemented by Sakonnet’s new release, Chanbrusco. A traditional method, un-disgorged sparkling red from estate grown Chancellor grapes, this wine has deep luscious fruit, fine fizz, and a touch of spice that leads to a dry and smooth finish.
The evening will conclude with a surprise farewell wine.
