Uncorking the Future 2025

Rhode Island PBS & The Public’s Radio have merged! Come celebrate the start of our new beginnings at The WaterFire Arts Center in Providence, RI during our annual culinary and vinous extravaganza, Uncorking the Future – A Culinary & Wine Event to Benefit Rhode Island PBS & The Public’s Radio. This dynamic spring celebration boasts wine tastings featuring carefully curated selections of both domestic and international vintages, sourced from local distributors, wine stores and private contributors.

Grab your Early Bird tickets now to our limited VIP Reception form 5 PM – 6 PM where you may enjoy oysters from Matunuck Oyster Bar, a raw bar from Tony’s Seafood and grazing table from Just Ellen’s Catering & Events. Indulge in delectable bites crafted by culinary maestros from over a dozen premier restaurants, caterers, and confectioners in Rhode Island and southeastern New England. At the heart of Uncorking the Future is our special PBS celebrity guests Chef Mary Ann Esposito adding a splash of fun as she mingles and connects with attendees. From 6 PM – 7 PM Chef Mary Ann will be signing copies of Ciao Italia: Plant, Harvest, Cook! and Ciao Italia: My Lifelong Food Adventures in Italy. Books are available for purchase now and at the event.

Uncorking the Future continues to stand as our largest fundraising event. You can anticipate an evening of culinary delights, art appreciation, and community togetherness. Guiding this year’s festivities will be Ashley Erling, director of local content and executive producer of The Rhode Show, and Doug Palmieri, iHeartMedia Providence program director and co-host of NOW 93.3’s Doug and Jenn Morning Show.

Returning for his 5th year as auctioneer of our spring fundraiser is John D’Aloisio.  He Has been an auctioneer for over 20 years on the New England/New York automobile circuit.

The theme for this year’s Uncorking the Future draws inspiration from metamorphosis and centers around the merging of Rhode Island PBS and The Public’s Radio. As an accompaniment to the main event, works from artists featured in our original series ART inc. and Artscape will be showcased in the  WaterFire Arts Center gallery. Attendees and the community will have the opportunity to explore the curated work of artists profiled in both series from Thursday March 27th – Sunday, April 27th, 2025.
