Eating with the Ecosystem's Scales & Tales at Little Moss

Eating with the Ecosystem  is excited to bring their mission to Little Moss, a restaurant located in South Dartmouth in an area aptly known as the “Farmcoast,” renowned for its abundant farming and fishing communities. The dining event will take place on Wednesday, January 24th, with a snow date of Thursday, January 25th. The evening will begin at 6pm.

This is the first Scales & Tales event of the new year. Throughout 2017, Eating with the Ecosystem partnered with Eat Drink RI to present this series of educational dining experiences at local restaurants to promote Eating with the Ecosystem’s mission of creating a place based approach to sustaining New England’s wild seafood. These upscale, seasonal dinners are fundraisers for Eating with the Ecosystem’s Mobile Food Boat program.

The “Scales” part of the dinner series relates to the meal, where guests will enjoy a multi-course experience, paired with wine, beer, or cocktails. The menu will consist of seasonal and abundant local seafood produced by our marine ecosystems. The “Tales” portion of the evening is an education component, with fishermen and scientists sharing stories and digging deeper into Eating with the Ecosystem’s mission in relation to the marine species being served.

Several diners became returning guests and attended every dinner in the 2017 series. “Scales & Tales is not just a dinner, it is an experience,” says supporter Laurinda C. “The incredible food is sourced locally, prepared by kitchen geniuses and delivered by sophisticated staff with outstanding hospitality. The discussions focused on the meal were truly enlightening. This was not just a great meal. This was truly a one-of-a-kind experience.”

“We are very lucky to be able to work with local farmers and fisherman to serve our guests some of the finest ingredients in New England,” said Chef/Owner Lisa Lofberg. “Our small, innovative menu highlights local seafood and produce, and changes regularly based on what’s available during the seasons.”

Each dinner is $90 per guest, all inclusive, and begins at 6pm with a welcome cocktail reception, followed by a multi-course seated dinner with drinks. A portion ($30) of each ticket is fully tax deductible and supports the nonprofit Eating with the Ecosystem’s work to promote a place-based approach to sustaining New England’s wild seafood.

Tickets are non-refundable, but are transferable. If you have any allergies or dietary restrictions these requests must be made in advance and can be indicated in the appropriate registration field during ticket purchase.
